Making memories with the Gazette in London and Scotland during spring break
October 25, 2025
Last April, Marie Maks of Lewes traveled with her family to explore castles and historic sites in London and Scotland. Her favorite was Hampton Court Palace, with its Tudor history, ancient yew topiaries, and original furnishings, including the great room built during the reign of Henry VIII for his second wife, Anne Boleyn. The family walked miles each day through London’s royal landmarks. Marie’s son Rob, his wife Nikki, and their children Jackson and Bridget were captivated by the Stirling and Edinburgh Castles. While driving through the Scottish Highlands, they stopped in Oban, a quaint fishing town known for its fresh seafood at unbeatable prices. It was a spring break to remember.
