Museum to host Rehoboth history presentations Dec. 4, 18
Local historian Paul Lovett will present a program on Rehoboth Beach history at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Rehoboth Beach Museum, 511 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach. An encore session will convene at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, at the museum. Light refreshments will be offered.
Using the miniature display of railroad-era Rehoboth Avenue as a backdrop, Lovett will discuss how the town grew after its establishment by the Methodist Episcopalians as a camp meeting location and Christian seaside resort. His chronological story will explore the founding of the town, saints and sinners, fires and storms, working families from rural Delaware, and wealthy tycoon families from big cities. All played a part in what what Rehoboth Beach has become today.
Seating is limited, and advance ticket purchase is required at rbmuseum.org.
