Responding to Shupe’s commentary

November 14, 2025

Rep. Bryan Shupe’s viewpoints are always interesting. Sadly, however, he has mutated into Maude Flanders shrieking, “Won’t somebody think about the children” and Dr. Evil’s fiendishly complicated traps for Austin Powers that are silly and predictably fail.

We don’t need to attack infrastructure projects or hypothesize students won’t need a college education nor will adult learners need to return to college to earn advanced degrees.

We don’t need complicated logic circles that sound like Facebook pop-up ads (“Secrets they don’t want you to know!”) and are somehow less credible.

The answer isn’t in the stars; it’s in Delaware Code – Section 1902(b)(6) Title 30, to be precise.

We amend the code to apply the same LLC annual fee that every Delaware business pays should apply to every business that is registered in Delaware and the same $300 fee. It’s equitable, reasonable, easy to implement and requires no sharks with laser beams on their heads. Best of all, it raises $400 million per year.

There’s no stewardship in attacking infrastructure, healthcare and education. It’s only the flat, tuneless whistle of a party seeking distraction from the problems of its own creation.
