Sussex needs commercial development badly

November 21, 2025

I am a Sussex County resident who is in favor of the Atlantic Fields project going forward.

This area needs commercial development badly. We have plenty of houses and not many places to shop.

The addition of Costco, Target, Whole Foods and many others will not add one vehicle to the roads, unlike new houses will.

The latest housing project being discussed will have a total of 1,900 houses and condos. Doing the rough math, this will add at least 1,900 cars to the streets, and probably more.

These are my feelings, and I hope council will realize we need commercial development to keep up with all of the houses that have been built.
