Minnie Eames, beloved by family, friends

November 23, 2025

Minnie Petrizzo Eames, 89, of Lewes, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at home. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., June 18, 1936, as the oldest child to the late Carrie Librie Petrizzo and Peter Petrizzo. Minnie was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, aunt and Mom Mom. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends.

After moving to Ocean County in the early 1960s, her entire family soon followed her to the Jersey Shore. Minnie worked mainly as a nurse’s aide, in both nursing homes and private duty. She took pride in providing the best possible care for her patients and providing unquestioned love and support to their families during a difficult time. She was active in her community as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She always had an infectious love and spirit to her that even strangers would gravitate towards. She enjoyed exhibiting her love to people through huge hugs, even though she stood less than 5 feet. She was known for being a fantastic cook and baker. She even had her own joint venture of Sisters Cookies (with her sister Maddie) that customers would travel hours to get their Italian cookie fix. She loved her Yankees, and since retirement, she has watched almost every game. Her true love was time with her children and grandchildren. She delighted in spending time with Samantha and Raymond baking cookies, watching Yankees games, and telling family tales. Minnie was truly an unforgettable person who was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Raymond L. Eames Jr.; her brothers, Dominick and Peter Petrizzo; son-in-law, Richard Northam; niece, Lori Long; brother-in-law, Tony Riciardi; and many cherished extended family and friend members.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Northam LaBoy; her son, Raymond L. Eames III and daughter-in-law Melissa Eames; her two grandchildren, Samantha Eames and Raymond Eames IV; her siblings, Madeline Long (Don), Barbara Ricciardi (Jim) and Rosemary Pizzulo (Pat), sister-in-law, JoAnn Petrizzo; nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. The tremendous loss we feel is only overshadowed by the strong sense of family unity she created.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Anderson & Campbell, 703 Main St., Toms River, N.J. The funeral will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 130 Cable Ave., Beachwood, N.J.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Foundation.
