Beebe Specialty Surgical Hospital earns high ranking
For the second consecutive year, Beebe Healthcare’s Specialty Surgical Hospital in Rehoboth Beach has been recognized among 16 of the top rural hospitals in the country by the Leapfrog Group.
The award reflects Beebe’s commitment and excellence to provide the best-quality and safest care for Sussex County residents and visitors.
Top hospitals are identified by excellent rankings in a variety of quality and patient safety measures, including low infection rates, surgical safety, error prevention, ethical billing and ensuring patients provide informed consent for procedures.
Beebe was the only hospital in Delaware or the Eastern Shore of Maryland to receive this accolade.

Beebe Specialty Surgical Hospital opened in May 2022 on the Abessinio Health Campus, packed with the latest innovations and technologies to streamline operative care for patients with a wide range of medical needs. Primarily serving bariatric, breast and orthopaedic patients for short-stay and outpatient procedures, the hospital has quickly earned a reputation as a destination for surgery.
The hospital utilizes robotic surgical systems, and minimally invasive and navigation-based tools to optimize the process of surgical care, so Beebe patients typically see shorter stays and faster recovery times, allowing them to get back to their optimal level of health.
