Georgetown chamber recognizes small businesses, installs new leadership
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce held its annual award ceremony Jan. 21 to recognize its 2025 Small Business Award winners.
Honorees are: Business of the Year/Large – Fulton Bank; Business of the Year/Small - Courageous Hearts; Emerging Business of the Year - Luli’s Creations; Chamber Champion of the Year - Cassie Wilson of Deeley Insurance; and Chamber Community Champion of the Year - Fred Thompson and the Hampton Inn.
During the event, the chamber also inducted its 2026 board of directors, with Rep. Valerie Jones Giltner, R-Georgetown, administering the oath of office. Serving as officers are: Steven James, Precision Paintball, chair; Damian Scala, Pace Your Life, co-chair; Mary Ann Smarte, M&T Bank, secretary; Art Blanchette, Alert Motivation, treasurer; and Jvonne Olliver, Fulton Bank, immediate past chair.
Board members are: Sean Flanigan, Beebe Medical Foundation; Mike Scutari, Kinnect Advisors; Myndi Verderame, Shore United Bank; Fred Thompson, Hampton Inn; Ron Scala, DAIMS; Ricky Pollitt, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity; Dakota Kellermeyer, Avery Hall Insurance; Erin Scharp, PAM Health; Kurt Herring, Comcast Business; Scott Anthony, Money Mailer; and David Metzler, Hiring Bridge.
