Work at the site of the planned Royal Farms at the corner of Route 16 and Route 5 in Milton is underway.
After the 100-year-old pecan tree near the site came down, the remaining trees and brush at the site were removed. Milton Project Manager Tom Quass said construction crews have installed silt fencing at the site and plan to remove the remaining structures.
Royal Farms is planning to build a 4,700-square-foot convenience store with 5,100 square feet of space for gas pumps at the 2-acre site. Entrances to the parcel are slated to be on Route 16 and Cedar Creek Road, along with traffic improvements to the intersection of Route 16 and Route 5.
