After a decade of bringing freshly made pasta to the Cape Region, Grandpa Mac has announced it’s closing at the end of the month.

James Beard-nominated chef Hari Cameron and his brother Orion opened the original Grandpa Mac, named after their grandfather Cameron MacCurdy, in 2015 on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. About 18 months later, a second location was opened in Harbor Square Shopping Center off Route 1. The Baltimore Avenue location closed in 2018. The company also has a food truck, affectionately called Mac Truck.

The duo  announced Feb. 12 that the Harbor Square Shopping Center location will be closing at the end of February.

“It’s a bittersweet thing for us, but we wanted to give it to you straight,” Hari said.

Orion encouraged longtime customers to come in one last time, and he teased possible future plans.

“We’re not saying it’s the end of Grandpa Mac. There’s more to come. More things to be had. More fun mac and cheese to be eaten,” said Orion.
