Sussex Tech students excel at Educators Rising competition

Sussex Technical High School students who are exploring careers in teaching recently participated at the Delaware Educators Rising State Leadership Conference.

All Sussex Tech participants medaled, including four who earned gold, qualifying them for the national competition, which will take place in June in Portland, Ore.

Senior team members April Vasquez Hernandez and Diana Lopez Juarez earned gold in the Inside Our Schools competition. 

Sophomore Juliana Calderon earned gold in public speaking.

Sophomore teammates Gabriella Gianacoplis and Octavio Castellanos achieved gold in the researching learning challenges category.

Seniors Ava Cooper and Zoe Gianacoplis brought home a silver medal in the researching learning challenges category.

Junior Sarai Velazquez-Pauc earned bronze in the interactive bulletin board competition.
