The City of Lewes has proclaimed Saturday, May 2, as Historic Lewes Farmers Market Day, the day the market opens for its 21st season.
The Wednesday market will open June 3 at Crooked Hammock.
The proclamation recognizes the market for making fresh, local food available to everyone in the community and lowering barriers to a variety of assistance programs. Mayor Amy Marasco read the proclamation at the April 13 council meeting.
