The Eagles traded with the Cowboys to move up to the 20th pick and selected wide receiver Makai Lemon from USC. In terms of body type, he reminds me of DeVonta Smith. Lemon is 6-2, 195 pounds and has great hands. I hope he is just as durable as DeVonta.
I was also very relieved when the Arizona Cardinals selected Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame. For weeks, I had heard rumors that the New York Giants were going to select him with pick No. 5. I am very happy he’s not in the Eagles’ division.
Going back to the Eagles, I hope they pick at least one offensive lineman in the second or third round to eventually replace Lane Johnson. I think he is probably going to retire after this year.
The Phillies’ season has officially become a disaster. They have lost their last nine straight games, and this weekend they play the first-place Atlanta Braves, in Atlanta. Considering the amount of talent on the roster, if they don’t finish with a record over .500 this year, it will be one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory for the team. Unfortunately, as always, I think the manager Rob Thomson will be used as a scapegoat for the players’ poor performance. There’s enough time for the season to be salvaged, but the team has to start winning games now.
That’s enough negative news. The Philadelphia Flyers are skating very well in their series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. They’re up 3-0. They should be able to close out the series in next two games.
The 76ers did a very good job recovering from their Game 1 loss against the Boston Celtics, winning Game 2 to tie the series. Games 3 and 4 will be played in Philly this weekend. Go Sixers!
