A once 3-2 Delmarva Christian boys’ volleyball team found itself at 3-5 following a three-game skid, but a dominating 3-0 victory over Red Lion puts the Royals at 4-5.
The lads were firing on all cylinders against the Lions, getting contributions from each level of the formation and grade level. Senior James Baxter and sophomore Henry Ennis each had some impressive serve streaks. Senior Seth Mifflin continued to be a problem for the opposition at the net, while sophomore Tristan McCullough found some playing time as a versatile outside hitter. Junior Jack Rogers was all over the court, setting up his frontline teammates for success time and time again.
Libero Rowan Dukes played his part to near perfection, keeping rallies going and even collecting a point on an impressive hit from the middle row. In the third and final set, Dukes swapped his purple jersey for a white one, and Cross Magee took over as libero, much to the delight of the crowd.
Delmarva Christian will have a chance to get back to .500 when the Royals travel to Dover Tuesday, April 28.
