Nassau Valley Winery to host art exhibition Aug. 3 to 31

July 24, 2012

Nassau Valley Vineyards and Winery will display selected paintings by Delaware artists Donald Blow and Anne Crown-Cyr during August. Both artists are signature-level and founding members of the Delaware Watercolor Society. The show, Delaware and Beyond, will feature oil and watercolor works created en plein air and in the studio.

Blow’s work focuses mainly on rural landscapes in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Group. Crown-Cyr travels abroad and in the United States and paints whatever grabs her senses.

“I really just love to paint the ordinary as I see it,” she says. She is a member of the Rehoboth, Mispillion, and Ocean City art leagues and is a bin member at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town, Va. More of her work can be seen at www.annecrownstudio.com.

“We are grateful to Peggy Raley Ward for inviting us to hang our work in the winery’s lovely gallery,” said Crown-Cyr.

The show runs from Aug. 3 to 31. The public is invited to stop by to see the art and enjoy a self-guided wine tour and tasting of Nassau’s award-winning wines 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m., Sunday. Nassau Valley Vineyards and Winery is at 32165 Winery Way, Lewes. For more information, contact the winery at 302-645-9463.
