Mary Alice O’Donnell, devout Catholic

Mary Alice O'Donnell, 74, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Hazelton, Pa., daughter of the late Adam and Anna (Skiba) Mishkofski.

Mrs. O'Donnell taught science at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington for 10 years retiring in 1995. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and watching her favorite team, the Phillies, with her husband James; she was an avid reader. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of the Columbiettes, the ladies auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus.

Mrs. O'Donnell is survived by her loving husband, James D. O'Donnell Jr.; her son, James D. O'Donnell III and his wife Amy Reich of Hong Kong; her brother, Joseph Mishkofski and his wife Marie of Virginia Beach, Va.; her brother-in-law, Paul Curfman; three nephews: Tim and Joey Mishkofski and David Curfman; and a niece, Anne Mishkofski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Rita Curfman.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes; friends may call at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro.
