Marianne E. McElwee, retired secretary
Marianne Elizabeth McElwee, 73, of Millsboro, formerly of Willow Grove, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 29, 1938, daughter of the late Martin and Gertrude (Kristen) Tucker. Marianne had previously worked for William H. Rorer Pharmaceuticals in Fort Washington, Pa., as a secretary before her retirement. Mrs. McElwee was a member of American Legion Post 28 Ladies Auxiliary in Millsboro and was very actively involved with Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. McElwee Jr. and a sister, Eileen Jeffers. She is survived by two sons, Anthony Leo McElwee and Joseph Martin McElwee; and three grandchildren, Joseph and Tyler McElwee and Kera Cook.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Saturday, Sept. 8, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro. Arrangements by the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services.
