Rehoboth's RE/MAX office now offering beach rentals

Looking to better serve the needs of the clientele they have built since opening on Rehoboth Avenue in the mid-1990s, owners and management at the RE/MAX realty group recently added a rental division to their company.

"The secret is out; everyone wants to vacation in Rehoboth," new RE/MAX Rental Manager Mary Lou Elrod said.

With the rental division launch Oct. 1, Elrod said she has plenty of listings to accommodate typical shoulder season visitors like vacationers in town for beach retreats, family reunions and festivals. Accepting new listings year-round, the rental manager said she is looking forward to building a robust catalog of rental listings for the peak season next summer as well.

RE/MAX Broker Nora Martin said the addition of a new rental division is the response to customer requests and a strengthening local economy.

“We wanted to provide a full service to the clients so that when they deal with us, all their needs are being met,” Martin said. “It’s been in the planning process for years, but I do believe people have more confidence in the economy now.”

With single-family homes, condos, townhouses and apartments available throughout the Cape Region, including Rehoboth and Dewey beaches, as well as Lewes, Millsboro and Milton, Rehoboth Beach RE/MAX owners Bob and Debbie Reed said the realty company is able to accommodate clients throughout the seaside area.

Most importantly, the RE/MAX location on Rehoboth Avenue allows the company to play an active role in the local business community and be on the pulse of the thriving beach resort.

“We are all proud to be a part of the Rehoboth Beach community; it’s such a great attraction for the surrounding metropolitan areas,” Bob said. “The village-feel of downtown is part of what makes Rehoboth the attraction that it is. Most properties are within walking distance of  downtown, the Boardwalk and the beach.

With a brand-new, high-tech website to facilitate booking rentals online as well, Debbie said the team has worked to be responsive to agents, the community and their clientele with the launch of the new rental division.

“Agents asked. They spoke. We listened,” she said. “We are offering a very good package for new customers, but what we are most proud of is the addition of Mary Lou. She is an excellent representative with a wealth of knowledge.”
