The National Weather Service warns that as Hurricane Sandy transitions into a nor'easter and comes ashore, the storm is expected to produce record coastal flooding. The storm tide, meaning the storm surge plus the tide, could reach 10 to 12 feet. But with the hurricane still offshore Oct. 28, some couldn't resist the high surf.
