Apple-Scrapple Festival to be held Oct. 8-9 in Bridgeville

The 19th annual Apple-Scrapple Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 9, in Bridgeville.

The event begins at 4 p. m., Friday with a carnival, food court and street dance and continues at 9 a.m., Saturday with live entertainment, a scrapple-carving contest, craft shows, carnival, health fair, car show, children’s games, farmers market, trade show, pony rides and more.

Food items include apple dumplings, pies and fritters, oyster sandwiches, chicken wings, hot dogs, pit beef, barbecued chicken and pork, blooming onions, Italian sausages, crab cakes, soft shell crabs, cheeseburgers, hand-dipped ice cream, kettle corn, candies, cakes and drinks of all kinds.

The Friday night street dance will feature the Mary Hill Band and the featured entertainer on Saturday will be the Fabulous Greaseband. Back for the second time will be a sand art display.

The Mayor’s Scrapple Sling and Delmarva Star Finals sponsored by Cat Country take place on Saturday.
