DBG at Pepper Creek welcomes Rodney Robinson for landscaping presentation Oct. 11
Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek will bring landscape architect Rodney Robinson to Lewes for his presentation, “Practical Home Landscaping: Old School to New School” from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Lewes library's upstairs meeting room. The fee is $15, but paid members of DBG can attend free.
Interest in ornamental gardening has expanded enormously as each year seems to bring greater varieties of plants, new products to use and more sources of information. Robinson will look over the past decades and suggest ways to make home landscaping more fulfilling.
Robinson, FASLA, PLA, is principal of Rodney Robinson Landscape Architects Inc., 30 Bancroft Mills Road, Wilmington. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and has been practicing landscape architecture for over 35 years. His firm is primarily recognized for its work with private gardens, botanical gardens, and historic landscape restoration.
Robinson has a master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor of science in agriculture - ornamental horticulture from the University of Delaware. His practice has taken him from Florida to Nantucket and as far west as Chicago. Regional projects have included renovation design for the U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory in Washington, D.C.; the historic restoration of Nemours, estate of Alfred I. du Pont in Wilmington; and more recently, new gardens for Woodburn, the governor’s residence in Dover.
This presentation is one of a series sponsored by the Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek, whose mission is to create an inspirational, educational, and sustainable public coastal-plain botanic garden in southern Delaware for the benefit and enjoyment of the public. Visit delawaregardens.org.
