VegRehoboth ThanksLiving Dinner set for Nov. 23

October 8, 2014

VegRehoboth announces the return of its annual ThanksLiving Dinner, the popular plant-based celebration of the traditional holiday meal. This year's dinner will take place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 23, at Cilantro Restaurant in downtown Rehoboth. The dinner will feature inspired dishes created by some of the area's most talented chefs.

In addition to executive chef Gladys Fernandez from Cilantro, who is providing the colorful setting and space for the dinner, top chefs Leo Cabrera from Modern Mixture, Hari Cameron from a(MUSE.), Jay Caputo from Espuma, Gretchen Hanson from Hobos, and bread master Keith Irwin from Old World Breads are also participating.

"We're thrilled to be able to offer people a peaceful setting and exquisite food to celebrate a new kind of Thanksgiving," says Patricia Haddock, cofounder and president of VegRehoboth. "Our ThanksLiving Dinner showcases the best of the traditional seasonal flavors - in a way that wows people - and at the same time shows gratitude and reverence for all living beings."

Instead of a buffet, Rehoboth ThanksLiving Dinner 2014 will be a seated three-course meal, with full service. There will also be a cash bar available.

Rehoboth Beach ThanksLiving Dinner 2014 is sponsored by Jenn Harpel of Morgan Stanley.

"We're very grateful to Jenn Harpel for generously sponsoring this event," said Tara Sheldon, VegRehoboth cofounder and vice president. "And also to Gladys Fernandez of Cilantro for providing her restaurant as the new location for our dinner. Last year we had so many people attending, we ran out of space - some of the chefs ended up sitting on the floor! People are really interested in this kind of eating - and the food was amazing. We knew we needed more space this year, so we're looking forward to this new venue."

The public is invited to attend the VegRehoboth ThanksLiving Dinner. Tickets for the dinner are $20 each, plus $1 handling fee for online purchase. They are available now at For more information, email
