Health and Spirituality forums sponsored by Parkinson's Support Group
The Parkinson's Education and Support Group of Sussex sponsored a Community Forum on Health and Spirituality Oct.10, at Cape Henlopen High School. Dr. Harold Koenig, Director of the Health and Spirituality Center at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, noted authority on health, spirituality, and religion, presented a two-hour program on scientific research which showed religious involvement is related to faster recovery, optimism, greater satisfaction and general well-being.
Dr. Koenig is the author of over 40 books and 400 scientific studies on Health and Spirituality. His Community Forum presentation was one of four presentations he made over the Oct. 10-12 in the Rehoboth Beach, Lewes area.
Oct. 18 he made the opening presentation at Parkinson's Symposium in Rehoboth Beach. He then made a presentation to the Beebe Healthcare medical staff, and on Oct. 19 he gave presentations at the church service at Bethel Methodist Church in Lewes.
