Heritage at Milford dedicates Honoring Our Veterans Wall

The Honoring Our Veterans Wall honors Heritage at Milford men and women. The objects on the Missing Man table are symbolic of those unaccounted for after battle: a red rose for each life, a white tablecloth for purity of motive in serving, a slice of lemon for the bitter fate of those missing, salt for the tears shed by the missing and their families, a Bible for faith and strength, and an inverted glass and empty chair for the ones who are not present. Heritage at Milford celebrated Veterans Day with the dedication of its Honoring Our Veterans Wall and display.
The celebration began with singer Dawn Jones entertaining the residents with World War II-era music. Delaware Army National Guard Col. Michael Berry then led the residents in the Pledge of Allegiance before he dedicated the wall and display, which includes the Missing Man table.
The event was a time to recognize and remember the men and women of Heritage at Milford who have fought for this nation's freedom.
