First Epworth Christmas Experience to be held Dec. 20
The first annual Epworth Christmas Experience - a festival of music, live nativity, bonfire, refreshments, professional photos with Santa, a holiday shopping bazaar and more - will welcome all to celebrate the holiday season from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday Dec. 20, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
The Reminders, whose musical sound is described as “hearty Americana, leathery country and bluesy gospel combined,” will perform favorite songs from 5 until 7:30 p.m. Continuing live music throughout the evening will be performed by Epworth's Crimson Letter band.
As guests enter the church parking lot, they will see various scenes of a live nativity, with live animals, actors and specially constructed scenes. Hot cocoa, other warm beverages, and cookies will be served outside by a roaring bonfire. Inside, guests will find a variety of donated holiday merchandise for sale in the evening's bazaar.
Santa will be there welcoming all, along with professional photographers to capture special moments.
"Epworth is such a strong part of the Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Dewey and surrounding community that we want to provide a very special holiday celebration for everyone to enjoy," said the Rev. Kody Witt of Epworth. "We believe we have designed an evening of holiday traditions that will be fun, spiritual and memorable for all who join us, regardless of religious affiliation or residence."
