Burley Oak Brewing Company takes over the taps at Papa Grande’s

December 20, 2014

Tuesdays are Endless Taco nights at Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria in Fenwick Island. For $10, customers can tackle as many tacos as they can eat. Customers were in for another treat Dec. 2. It was the first tap takeover event at the restaurant, and Burley Oak Brewing Company was the guest of honor.

“This was a fun off-season event for us,” said Scott Kammerer, president  of SoDel Concepts, which owns Papa Grande’s, seven other coastal restaurants, Plate Catering and Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen, a food truck. “The crowd of locals who come for Endless Taco night loved it. There were also a lot of beer lovers on hand, including restaurant industry people from Bethany, Fenwick, Berlin and Ocean City.”

Bryan Brushmiller and the crew from Burley Oak, which is based in Berlin, Md., were on hand to answer questions and mingle with the crowd. There were four beers including Sour Trip Weisse, Pale Ryeder Rye Double IPA and El Camino American Brown Ale.

“A tap takeover gives our customers and craft beer lovers a chance to try things they normally don’t have access to or that they haven’t had in the past,” said Phill Blush, general manager of Papa Grande’s in Fenwick. “It also gives us the opportunity to showcase a great local brewery. It was a really fun night.”
