RBFS and CAMP Rehoboth present 'BFFs' Jan. 3

December 27, 2014

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and CAMP Rehoboth are cosponsoring a screening of the comedy “BFFs” at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, in the upstairs screening room at the Movies at Midway.

Kat and Samantha have been best friends for years. When Kat is given the birthday gift of a couples retreat weekend by her mother - despite the fact she and her boyfriend have been over for months - Sam convinces her to take advantage of the idyllic retreat by pretending to be lovers. What starts as a plan to lounge by the pool and make fun of the other couples morphs into working on a relationship they did not intend having with each other. During an intense few days they realize that all the play-acting at being a couple is having an effect on them, and the lines between friendship and romance start to blur.

Winner of an Audience Award for Best Feature at the Austin Gay & Lesbian Film Festival this witty, female- buddy comedy has garnered laughs and applause as it’s played to audiences across the world. Michele Clay of “Splash” says, “This film dances sweetly and smartly back and forth across the line of comedy and drama… Honestly, you won’t see the jokes coming until you are leaning back in your chair laughing out loud. The ride is fun and fresh.”

Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased at www.rehobothfilm.com, or by calling 302-645-9095, Ext 1, or in person at the RBFS office, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Tickets are nonrefundable.
