Messianic Delaware, a new Christian fellowship, will begin meeting every other Friday starting Jan. 9.
Messianics are Christians who believe in Yahshua (Jesus) as the messiah. They worship on the biblical Sabbath and celebrate the Feasts of the Lord found in Leviticus 23.
Messianics assert that the Torah (literally "teaching") is still in effect, that Yahshua fulfilled the Law in his first coming, and will judge all in his second coming. To a Messianic, the Torah is the word of God, not the rules, beliefs, and practices of man or the religions founded by men.
Messianic Delaware rose out of a desire to know the truth of the Scriptures from the perspectives of the authors who wrote them. It is devoted to getting back to the Hebraic-Christian roots of faith, and doing biblical things in biblical ways. Messianic Delaware strives to understand God’s (Yahovah’s) Word within its historical and cultural framework, and to apply what he teaches and commands through the Torah, and the spirit and love of Messiah Yahshua. Members do this by looking at the scriptures from the original Hebrew perspective. Messianic Delaware is devoted to going beyond the traditions and doctrines of men and getting back to the Hebraic-Christian roots of faith.
For those whose current religion can’t answer all their questions about the Bible, seems more focused on the rules or dogma of the church, doesn’t fill them with the spirit of God, or just doesn’t profess the truth, a messianic fellowship that professes the Hebrew roots of faith may be what they have been looking for.
The fellowship will meet every other Friday at the Zwaanendael Farm across the street from the Cape Henlopen High School bus parking on Kings Highway in Lewes.
