Donna Y. Hilderley, Rehoboth library friend
Donna Yingling Hilderley, 73, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born May 16, 1941, in Washington, D.C., daughter of Eunice (Bowman) Yingling of Westminster, Md and the late Alfred C. Yingling.
Mrs. Hilderley graduated from Lackey High School in 1959 in Indian Head, Md. Following her graduation, she attended the Washington School of Secretaries in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Hilderley met her husband, Clifton T. Hilderley, at a law firm that she worked in and they would marry on November 26, 1969. She would later work as a corporate secretary at the Tobacco Institute. She was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rehoboth Beach.
Mrs. Hilderley was heavily involved and active with the Friends of the Rehoboth Library where she volunteered many hours. She was a great cook and an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to the West Indies and Caribbean islands.
Mrs. Hilderley is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Clifton T. Hilderley, a stepson, Clifton T. Hilderley III of Oxford, N.Y. and his wife Hye Jung; a brother, Larry Yingling and his wife Sherill of Topsail Beach, N.C.; a sister, Sharon K. Yingling of Rockville, Md.; a grandchild, Mimi Hilderley; a nephew, Christian R. Yingling and his wife Catherine of Falls Church, Va.; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m.,, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
