Online insurer moves to bolster small business
Online insurance provider AssureStart expanded operations to Delaware late last year, adding a new option to the marketplace of comprehensive coverage for local business and independent retailers.
AssureStart offers insurance products that meet general liability and property coverage needs for businesses with fewer than 25 employees.
American Family Insurance company invested in the Seattle-based small business insurer in 2013, allowing the startup to begin expanding to other states. In addition, AFI recently announced plans to continue its expansion with worker's compensation insurance and commercial auto policies in the future.
Delaware marked the midpoint of AssureStart's nationwide expansion, which has been endorsed by major media outlets in the Seattle area and the Better Business Bureau.
“With certificates of insurance available at the point of sale, a small business owner can buy a policy online and present the necessary credentials to start work on a client project the same day," says AssureStart CEO Greg Tacchetti, noting that more traditional insurance companies typically have a much slower turnaround on policies.
