Mildred B. Harmon, Nanticoke tribe member

Mrs. Mildred B. "Indian Pride" Harmon, 87, of Millsboro, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Delaware Hospice Center.

Mrs. Mildred Harmon was born in Millsboro, June 18, 1927, to the late Joseph and Elsie Davis Clark.

She worked at Swift’s Poultry Plant for many years. Mildred was a member of Indian Mission United Methodist Church and a life member of the Nanticoke Indian Association. She was easy going and a kind person. Mildred enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She was dedicated to her family and especially loved her grandchildren dearly.

She is survived by two daughters, Dalene Brandner and her husband Rick of Millsboro, and Diane Johnson of Georgetown; a stepson, Reese Harmon Jr., of Millsboro; one brother, Laymond Clark of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Jodie Brown, Jessie Pritchett, Farrah Norwood, Devin Cropper and Amanda Norwood; along with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by extended family and friends as well as her feline friend, Cupcake and canine friend Snickers.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, March 14, at the Indian Mission United Methodist Church, 22701 Indian Mission Road, Harbeson, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Pastor Karen Mumford will officiate.
