Faith leaders to learn about inmate re-entry program April 7
The Delaware Council of Faith-Based Partnerships is partnering with the Department of Health and Social Services for a Lunch and Learn for faith leaders from 12 to 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, at the Smyrna Rest Area conference room.
Jay Lynch, deputy principal assistant to DHSS Secretary Rita Landgraf, will discuss I-ADAPT, Individual Assessment, Discharge and Planning Team, an individualized re-entry program for Delaware inmates.
The event is free, but registration is required and seating is limited.
The council was created by Gov. Jack Markell in 2012 through executive order. Members of the council are appointed by the governor and lieutenant governor, and serve as interfaith volunteers. They operate without state funding and partner with government agencies and nonprofit groups to address community needs.
Currently, the following faiths are represented on the council: African Methodist Episcopal, Baptist, Episcopal, Jewish, Latter-day Saints (Mormon), Muslim, Presbyterian and Roman Catholic.
Faith leaders can register to attend the Lunch and Learn by contacting Flora McConkie, secretary, Delaware Council of Faith-Based Partnerships, at de.cfbp@gmail.com, or 302-633-4825.
