Magical Strings concert set April 24 in Rehoboth Beach

Recorded over 20 albums
April 11, 2015

Magical Strings will bring their vibrant ringing and soulful sounds to Rehoboth in a concert at 7 p.m., Friday, April 24, at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach. Philip and Pam Boulding, who have been touring internationally for 36 years and have recorded over 20 albums, will be performing on their own handcrafted Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers plus whistles, accordion and concertina. Their repertoire includes ancient airs, and lively jigs and reels. Their unique compositions and stories take audiences to Ireland and beyond.

The Bouldings will be playing music inspired by their recent journey to Ireland where they spent time on the Burren exploring ancient mystical sites, and traced the footsteps of 17th century Irish harper Turlough O’Carolan. They will play "Barbara’s Cottage," "The Fairy Wind" and Philip’s newest song, "The Hermit’s Cave."

Philip Boulding will demonstrate the versatility of one of his lap harps, which are available for sale. If someone is intrigued by the instrument or the music, Boulding will be happy to schedule a lesson if possible during their tour.
