16 Mile, Jolly Trolley and Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill to offer rides to Georgetown Farmers Market
Summer at the beach and traffic go hand in hand, and there are no signs of it letting up anytime soon. After announcing that the Georgetown Farmers Market is relocating to 16 Mile Brewery's property on South Bedford Street, the crew at 16 Mile decided there needed to be a way to get beachgoers west to Georgetown without the hassle of fighting traffic.
“One of the challenges we face is breaking the perception that Georgetown is far away from the beaches,” said Sarah Dickinson, media and events director at 16 Mile. “We really want to add layers of foot traffic to the newly relocated market, and offering a round-trip ride from the beach on the Jolly Trolley is a great solution.”
The iconic beach shuttle, specializing in door-to-door transportation, has pickup and drop-off spots all over Rehoboth and Dewey Beach, one of which is Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill on Route 1. “Gary’s is known for a great local craft beer selection and super healthy and tasty food, plus we have a great working relationship,” said Dickinson. “We are really excited about offering Dewey Beach goers an opportunity to ride out to the brewery during our market.”
The round trip ride fee is $40 and includes transportation, a private tour and guided tasting through two beers and discounts on pints. Pickup is at 1 p.m. every Wednesday starting June 3 in front of Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill at 2000 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach.
