R. Donald 'Donnie' Wells, carpenter

R. Donald “Donnie” Wells, 69, of Milton, passed away at Milford Memorial Hospital Thursday May 14, 2015.

Born in Milford, the son of the late Marshall E. and Anna J. (Hickman) Wells, Donnie was a carpenter. He worked for John P. Argo Construction for 20 years before going into business for himself. He was a member of The Water’s Edge in Milton.

Donnie enjoyed hunting, racing, and riding his tractor. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and was a devoted husband and father. He will always be remembered for his jolly chuckle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William E. “Billy” Wells.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mildred Wells; children William “Donnie” Wells of Milton, MaryAnn and her husband Jerry Callaway of Bridgeville and Robert S. Wells and his wife Tina of Milton; brother Kenneth Wells of Milton; grandchildren Kyle, Taylor, Tabitha, Jerry, Jordan, Gage, Tyler, Shelby, Brianna, and Trey; Jonathan and Vivian who were like his grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Friday May 22, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. A visitation will be held the night before Thursday May 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at Slaughter Neck Cemetery.
