Delaware Wild Lands to restore freshwater wetlands at Milford Neck
Delaware Wild Lands is working with Ducks Unlimited this year to restore freshwater wetlands at Milford Neck that will protect upland forests and agricultural fields from saltwater intrusion.
Over the course of the coming year, they will be working with the State of Delaware and The Nature Conservancy (both adjacent landowners to DWL’s Milford Neck Preserve) to develop and implement a large-scale marsh restoration project.
Protecting waterfowl and songbird habitat and productivity of agricultural lands at Milford Neck is a top priority for Delaware Wild Lands. Their investment in Milford Neck began in 1985 with the first purchase of 1,775 acres from the Delaware Bay Transport Company, and they have nearly doubled the size of their land holdings at Milford Neck since then.
