Bird brood just looking for a bug to swallow

The Cape Gazette family has hatchlings at the office. We all go out there & coo at them, watch the mom & dad fly in & out on trips for bugs for the kids. There appear to be four mouths to feed and they never stop squawking, the parents have relentless energy. They return every year to the same nest and raise another brood. These are Barn Swallows with beautiful cobalt blue on top & tawny tan with forked tails. They are fast and precise fliers and make mud nests. And they eat insects, yes the annoying ones, so don't spray for bugs because these guys will eat them (and that chemical will likely shorten their lives).

  • Photography grounds me and elates me. I am inspired by nature and its perfection. I see things that compel me to take a photograph, things that are ordinary, or small and go unseen by others. This is my purpose as a visual story teller. See my work in the Beach Paper and the Cape Gazette, or visit my website denyhoweth.com.
