St. Paul and Metropolitan bid farewell to Rev. Jeanel Starling and welcome new pastors

Rev. Dr. Jeanel Starling and congregations celebrated her last Sunday as pastor of St. Paul June 28 after 17 years of faithful service. She was appointed to Metropolitan UMC in 2012. Her total years as a pastor is 19. The celebration held for Rev. Starling was filled with, lots of love, tears and reflections. Rev. Starling was the first female pastor appointed to St. Paul. She was appointed in 1998 as a student pastor and worked faithfully to become ordained a full elder in the United Methodist Conference in 2006. Along with her husband James , her ministry at St. Paul and Metropolitan in Harrington has been a great journey.
Rev. Starling and Metropolitan welcomes Pastor Kenneth Anderson as new pastor of Metropolitan. Rev. Starling assisted with the transitional celebration held July 5. Pastor Anderson, a strong man of God, comes with lots of experience in kingdom building.
The congregation will welcome Rev. Derek Henry with a transitional service where Rev. Starling passes on the mantle to the new pastor at 9 a.m., Sunday, July 12.. Rev. Henry is a strong man of God who comes with much background in kingdom building. He desires to be involved in the community and beyond. The church members welcome the pastors their respective churches and pray God’s blessings on where God is leading.
