St. Peter's to offer vocal music program for youth Tuesday afternoons
For children who love to sing, St. Peter's Church Music Department is offering Voice for Life from 2:45 to 6:45 p.m., Tuesdays. Voice for Life is a vocal music education curriculum. Under the direction of a certified music teacher, children will receive a well-balanced musical education including basic music theory, vocal techniques and sight singing, equipping them with tools to have a voice for life.
Students in second grade and higher are welcome; the ability to read words on a page is necessary. Upon arrival between 2:45 and 3:45 p.m., students will be given a healthy snack and time for homework with help available from adults, including several retired teachers. Students then will have a singing rehearsal with T.J. Thomas, music director. At 6 p.m., the entire family is welcome to a prepared dinner in the parish hall.
St. Peter’s is providing this opportunity free of charge to all children in the community. There is no requirement to be affiliated with a faith community or church. For more information, contact T.J. Thomas at 302-645-8479 or tthomas@stpeterslewes.org.
