Acupuncturist Michael Moore joins Kaya Wellness and Yoga Studio

December 13, 2015

The 2,500-plus-year-old practice of acupuncture restores the flow of qi and balance. The body's meridians have several hundred acupuncture points grouped according to the classical five elements of Eastern philosophy. This network of energy channels and points connects all of the vital organs in one big circuit. Illness and disease are analogous to a jam or block in these channels. The practice of acupuncture involves painlessly inserting tiny needles into specific points along the meridians to restore the flow and improve health.

Acupuncturist Michael Moore most often treats patients suffering from back pain, joint pain, allergies, cold or flu, fatigue, arthritis, anxiety, insomnia, depression and headaches. He can also treat upset stomach and other gastrointestinal tract problems, acne, low thyroid, edema, dizziness, menstrual and uterine problems, and much more. Another common request he gets  is the acupuncture facial, which can make fine lines and wrinkles disappear.

Most treatments require five to 10 visits. Kaya is offering 10 percent off five-packs and 20 percent off 10-packs as a special incentive to help new and returning clients stay committed to their health and wellness. Regular self-care and support are shown to increase a person’s ability to make long-lasting changes. At this time, Moore is seeing patients on Sundays only.

Moore is a graduate of the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Md. He has clinical acupuncture experience in a private Baltimore, Md. practice and at a community outreach center. He also has extensive experience with biofeedback and relaxation therapy from clinical work in a yoga institute and holistic center in Chicago. Moore earned a master of science in psychology from the University of Scranton with emphasis in holistic health studies and a bachelor of arts from St. John’s College. Moore also enjoys teaching hatha yoga and pranayama breathing techniques.
