Edna 'Charlotte' Kimmey, church founder
Edna “Charlotte” Hall Kimmey, 91, of Seaford, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. She is the daughter of the late Wayland and Edna Vickers-Hall.
Her husband Robert L. Kimmey, preceded her in death, along with son-in-law Michael D. “Mike” Herholdt. She was the last of eight siblings which all preceded her in death: Prentice, Paul, Ronald, Lawrence, Guy Hall and Catherine Hall Birch and Virginia Hall Bishop.
She, along with her late husband Bobby, were founders and members of the Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel. Charlotte loved reading her bible which explains her nature and kindness in helping others. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and especially her furry friends, her cats. Mrs. Kimmey also enjoyed family dinners, holidays and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Hall- Herholdt; three grandchildren Danny Herholdt and wife Jean, John Herholdt and wife Jennifer, and Wesley Herholdt and wife Jenny; and 10 great-grandchildren; also, two stepchildren: Gae Piotti and Joy Kimmey Johnson; and several great-stepgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers, which made her stay at home more pleasurable.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Milford Church of God, 500 North Walnut St. Milford, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., for a viewing. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
