Bayhealth Welcomes Radiation Oncologist Eric Kemmerer, MD, MS

December 22, 2017

Bayhealth Radiation Oncology Associates recently welcomed a new radiation oncologist when Eric Kemmerer, MD, MS, joined the practice.

Dr. Kemmerer, who is a member of the American College of Radiation Oncology, came to Bayhealth after serving as chief resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at Drexel/Hahnemann University Hospital and earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine.

“Our team is very excited for the program and our communities to have Dr. Kemmerer join the program,” said John Lahaniatis, MD, medical director, Radiation Oncology. “Having another radiation oncologist increases patient access to our growing program.”

Dr. Kemmerer served an internship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He earned his master of science in biochemistry from the University of Scranton, where he also graduated magna cum laude with bachelor of science degrees in biochemistry and biophysics.

“Bayhealth was an attractive radiation oncology program due to the state-of-the-art equipment and new Bayhealth Sussex Campus,” said Dr. Kemmerer. “But most of all it was the friendliness and family environment of the radiation oncology team at Bayhealth. I’m excited to be a part of the Bayhealth radiation oncology program and the community.”
