Just in time for a good beach read with local ties, author Ed Moran has published “The DreamCatcher of Rehoboth Beach.”

The 113-page book is about Iktomi, Mother Nature’s Native American spirit, and a young woman named Skye, who is a member of the Nanticoke Indian Tribe. The book explores the relationship between the spirit and Skye as she and a second character claim a small but rewarding victory in the summer of 2019. The victory is possible with the use of Iktomi’s powerful dreamcatcher.

Moran said he came up with the idea years ago, but wasn’t able to flesh out the characters until he moved to Delaware.

“My story is a mystical, historical fantasy; a light but thoughtful summer read,” said Moran, in an email June 10. “It is illustrated with many popular local locations and is rich in local history, influenced by the Nanticoke story.”

The book is for sale in the local-interest section at Browseabout Books, 113 Rehoboth Ave. The store is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
