1925 Eagle Foundation presents first scholarship
The 1925 Eagle Foundation announced its first scholarship recipient is Grace Feather, a valued member of the Rehoboth Beach Country Club’s Talon Tribe and a recent Cape Henlopen High School graduate.
Feather, 18, who works as part of the RBCC team, is attending attend Delaware State University this fall. She received a $10,000 scholarship to support her pursuit of a degree in elementary education. She hopes to return to Sussex County after college to teach third, fourth or fifth grade, and continue giving back to the community that helped shape her.
“I am very appreciative of the scholarship from the 1925 Eagle Foundation for the recognition of my hard work, dedication and future potential,” said Feather. “This scholarship will alleviate some of the financial burden I was concerned about and allow me to focus more fully on achieving my degree.”
While in high school, Feather balanced strong academics with extracurricular involvement. She plans to bring that same commitment to her studies at Delaware State. She also looks forward to returning to RBCC during school breaks to work once again as a camp counselor for children.
In conjunction with Rehoboth Beach Country Club’s 100th anniversary, the 1925 Eagle Foundation was established to support local charities and club employees, known as the Talon Tribe.
“Grace represents everything this scholarship was meant to encourage — dedication, service and a desire to make a difference,” said Scott Talbott, foundation president. “We are honored to support her journey.”
