90th birthday party held for Dr. and Mrs. James Ganaway of Lewes

In the presence of their three daughters and their extended families, Dr. and Mrs. James Ganaway of Lewes were honored at a 90th birthday celebration May 20, 2017, at the Brick Hotel and Restaurant in Georgetown.

James Rives Ganaway was born Jan. 2, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill. He is a retired veterinarian and World War II Army veteran. He spent eight years in the U.S. Air Force and 34 years in the U.S. public health sservice.

Inga Marguerita Belsher was born May 28, 1927, in Ardsley, N.Y. She and James married Sept. 3, 1950, at St. James Episcopal Church, New York, N.Y. A loving and devoted homemaker, she was also a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout leader.

The birthday luncheon was hosted by their daughters Gale White of Lewes, Linda Barrett of Berlin, Md., and Cheryl Seaman of Rehoboth Beach. As a special surprise, the Ganaways received birthday tributes from the House of Representatives sponsored by Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth, and from the Senate, sponsored by Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes.

Inga and James Ganaway have resided in Lewes for 19 years. They have nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
