Acres honors former Mayor Wanda Davis

April 24, 2014

Henlopen Acres officials dedicated a plaque at the intersection of Zwaanendael and Pine Reach honoring former Mayor Wanda Davis.

Davis was honored for her 11 years in the mayor’s seat, from 2001 to 2012. The intersection was dedicated as Wanda Davis Grove.

While the shy Davis did not appear at the dedication, her successor, Mayor David Hill, said Davis was a hard worker who managed the town with a steady hand. He said Davis oversaw improvements to the town’s stormwater runoff system and pushed through charter amendments that benefited residents.
