Alexander M. Pearson, amazing son, friend

Alexander Michael Pearson, 24, of Millsboro, passed away at home Monday, Sept. 25, 2023.

Alexander was born in Salisbury, Md., and raised in Dover, graduating from Caesar Rodney High School Class of 2017. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from University of Delaware, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He worked most recently as a field geotechnical professional with Geo-Technology Associates Inc. Alexander took great pride in his work and made many friends.  

Alexander was very athletic and enjoyed keeping fit. He loved spending time outdoors, going to the beach, and playing basketball. Alexander was an amazing son and friend who inspired everyone around him with his kind spirit, infectious laugh, and endearing smile. Alexander was a passionate animal lover, often spending time playing with his pet friends.   

Alexander was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles “Fred” Pearson; and paternal aunt, Janet Das Sarma.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer O’Day and husband Doug; his father, Eric Pearson and wife Lisa; his brother, Nathaniel Pearson; maternal grandparents, Mary and Donald Weber; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Pearson; his goddaughter, Bella LaGrassa; five stepsiblings, Jessica Gravenor and her children Logan and Lilyana; Calvin O’Day; Brianna Mangione, her husband Andrew, and daughter Valentina; Alexa Curto and Kayla Curto; maternal aunt, Jackie Weber and her daughter Brittany; paternal aunt, Cynthia Diefenbeck, her husband Dave, and their children Evan, Lily and Olivia; paternal uncle, Sankar Das Sarma and children, Andrew and Matthew; and extended family. 

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at noon. Interment will follow at St. Johnstown Cemetery Greenwood.
