The Alliance Singers of the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus will celebrate life’s milestones during their fall concert performances from Friday to Sunday, Sept. 27 to 29, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
“That’s Life,” a challenging song revue, will look at ups and downs experienced in life journeys through courtship, marriage, children, disappointments, coming out, breakups, sunrises and sunsets, and more.
Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m., and the Sunday matinee is set for 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and available at camprehoboth.org.
The Alliance Singers are an auditioned group of vocalists chosen for their combined sound, singing ability and musicianship from among the larger 100-plus membership of CAMP Rehoboth Chorus. The 18 members of the group have been longtime choral singers, and many have received professional training. The name ‘Alliance’ was chosen to reflect a diverse group of allies dedicated to the mission of CAMP Rehoboth to create a more positive environment inclusive of all, and the chorus’s mission to bring the community together through the power of song.
Highlights will include the title song “That’s Life,” reminding audiences that along with “ridin’ high in April” come the lows of getting “shot down in May,” but getting up again. Elsewhere, singers will celebrate courtship with “My Girl/My Guy” and “Happy Together.” Soloist Gwendolyn Miller will sing “The Greatest Love of All,” and crowd favorite Dan Potts solos on “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The audience will also have chances to sing along with fun songs like “Build Me Up Buttercup” and “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.”
Alliance Singers are led by Artistic Director Doug Yetter. Dave Zipse provides masterful musical accompaniment for Alliance as he has for CAMP Rehoboth Chorus since its first concert in 2010.
