Annabella’s Italian Restaurant and Bakery in Lewes has added pizza to its menu of classic Italian fare.
“We cook all of our pizzas right on the stone. We’re going old school for real,” co-owner Mike Spray, above, said. The restaurant opened in October 2009, and last year an Italian bakery was added. The pizza oven started turning out pies this spring.
Spray said Lance Swalzer is the restaurant’s experienced pizza chef. “He threw pies in Brooklyn for several years, and he also lived in Italy for a couple years. He’s a good fit with what we’re doing here, and he knows where we’re going,” Spray said.
He said the oven accommodates six 12-inch pizzas. A plain 12-inch cheese pizza is $7, and a plain 16-inch is $12. Pizza varieties include spinach and ricotta cheese, bianco, pepperoni, quattro formaggio, and others. The restaurant also offers free local delivery.
Annabella’s is at 1201 Savannah Road, Lewes.
