A Rehoboth Beach woman faces felony charges May 19 after police say she threatened a contractor with scissors.

Police were called at 9:49 a.m. to a property on Black Duck Reach in The Glade for a report of a disturbance as a member of the home owners association and some contractors were clearing ivy on a fence that was within an easement on the road, police said. As they cleared the ivy, police said, Jennifer August, 62, approached them and began arguing with them. She then threatened a contractor with a pair of scissors, police said, then threw debris on another contractor and sprayed the HOA member with an unknown liquid.

August was located at her residence and taken into custody without incident. She was taken to Troop 7 where she was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, felony second-degree assault with a disabling chemical spray, felony aggravated menacing, offensive touching, and disorderly conduct.  August was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
