Arts in Cape Henlopen State Park with Danielle Chavez
Members of the public are invited to tap into their inner artist and discover new ways to connect to nature from 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, at Cape Henlopen State Park.
Local artist Danielle Chavez will demonstrate how she captures the landscape of Cape Henlopen. Visitors will see the images develop on the canvas and will have the opportunity to ask questions and experience nature from a new perspective. This is a free program; however, park entrance fees are in effect.
This program is made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the Arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
Visitors to the Nature Center can also get news of the latest bird sightings, a view of the Osprey Cam, a look at creatures contained in five 1,000-gallon aquariums or directions to other exciting features in the park. The Nature Center is open daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cape Henlopen State Park is at 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, one mile from the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal. Signs will direct visitors to the Nature Center.
